Abundant Life Advent Challenge: Day 8

I love the way God brings things full circle for us. I drafted a short paragraph for each day of this challenge the first day God brought this to me. Then over the past few weeks, I’ve been praying about “what’s in my hand”. The answer: a pen. It has always been my weapon against the enemy.

This morning before coming to prepare this post, I spent time with God again on this idea about “what’s in my hand”. As you can imagine, my heart leaped with joy when I came to write this and saw that today’s post was about pens! I love it when God winks at us in this way. Below is the original paragraph I drafted weeks ago.

As a pen lover, this one is hard but at the same time, not really. I know what I like. You know what you like. So why then do we have drawers or jars full of pens we don’t like? Take a moment to gather 8 pens from anywhere in your home and add them to the box. No overthinking. Do it now. Get up, go to the places in your home where they accumulate, grab 8 and snap a pic, post #abundantlifeadvent, and drop those pens in the box if they still write.

I hope by now you see that this challenge is not just about stuff. It’s about making room for God in our lives. When we follow His lead, when we lean in, we will always see His hand at work.
