Abundant Life Advent Challenge: Day 3
I sincerely hope you will take this challenge on. I’m exhausted. We’ve been traveling and today was my first full day home. My hubs had promised we’d watch two of our four grands so off we went to arrive there by 8 A.M. We decided to help our six-year-old grandson declutter his room. It had nothing to do with this challenge and it felt so good to help him. By the time we were finished, I was even more exhausted. We came home and I took a much-needed nap. Then I reminded myself of this challenge and which space in my house I know is long overdue for attention. I opened the drawer in my bathroom and said to myself, out loud, “Just grab two!” I quickly did, wondered how one even ended up in the drawer, looked at the expiration date on the other, and was shocked … 2019! Y’all … I’m speechless. But hey, there is no shame in this challenge! We are making room for God and shame doesn’t come from Him.
So if you are just now joining us, catch up real quick, seriously, it will only take a moment. Then, get on with day three: Jewelry.
I’m sure you have at least three pairs of earrings you never wear! Maybe it’s bracelets. Ask yourself, would I wear this item if the special event presented itself today? This is a clarifying question for areas that hold special occasion items. The problem with those items is that we forget we have them because we have too much. Or we would rather buy something new for the special occasion. So ask the questions. Do you still love the piece? Is it classic? Would you actually wear it again? Did you wear it to your child’s wedding? Maybe it’s time to gift it to them? At a minimum, it may be time to move it out of your everyday space. Display it, or part with it.
Three items. Just three, post about it and move on to your busy day.
Participate: Snap pics or do a quick video to show you are in the challenge and then post regularly to hold yourself accountable. #abundantlifeadvent
