Abundant Life Advent Challenge: Day 10

Today, I had an unexpected cleanout. My hubs was looking for something in a deep kitchen drawer. He couldn’t find what he was looking for and just kept pulling items out. He came into the bathroom and warned me of the mess he left on the counter in the kitchen. After he explained what had happened, I didn’t know what to expect and walked into the kitchen. There on the counter set a multitude of items. Some I couldn’t even identify. Some were odd parts to kitchen appliances we no longer own. I opened the drawer to see what remained. Full but now organized, I looked back at the counter and began making decisions. A few items I think my daughter would like because she loves to cook. I added them to a bag I created a few days ago for her. (I told you it was contagious. I’m finding all kinds of things to part with as I go about my days.) Then I took the other donations to my box and only returned three items, THREE, to the drawer.

Y’all this happened this morning before church. It didn’t take but a few moments. This doesn’t have to be difficult. Make the decisions. Start with the donation box. Have one set up so you have a designated place to take any unwanted items as you come across them.

Now today, isn’t even about the drawer. It’s about books. If you’re an author or writer, this one may be tough. Go to your bookshelves. Grab ten books you will never read again or have zero sentimental value. Add them to the box. Don’t worry about reselling them. You can make that decision at the end of this challenge. Today, you’re just moving ten books to the box. MOVE them!

I’ll confess, I didn’t move mine to the box. I have an upcoming project that I’ll be using my donation books for so I designated an area for them and stacked them high! You’ll see how I use them in upcoming posts in 2024. Until then, move yours!

Let me know how you’re feeling so far in the challenge. I’d love to hear!

Snap pics or do a quick video to show you are in the challenge and then post regularly to hold yourself accountable. #abundantlifeadvent
