Abundant Life Advent Challenge: Day 20

zero inbox method

It’s the 20th! Oh my, it’s getting real now! Christmas is five days away. If you work outside the home and follow your children’s school schedule, today may be the last workday before the break, or you may already be on break. For those of us who are empty-nesters, today is Wednesday. Just another day at the office. Which brings us to today’s space to declutter. The number of items may seem high but in your office, you probably have many nooks and crannies to choose from. It may be your desk alone that deserves this mini-makeover. Twenty items from your desk could give it a whole new look.

Here’s another option. Many who work from home are the have-laptop-will-travel types and don’t have a dedicated space. This could be a gift in and of itself because no space means no space to declutter. But then there’s that digital space. How’s the inbox? The virtual desktop? Are you a zero-inbox girl, or like me with over 1,400 unread emails? Hey, remember that no-shame promise we made when we started? It goes both ways!

So what will it be for you today? A virtual office declutter or your physical space? Make room and free your mind. It will open your heart I promise. I’m tackling that inbox!

Before

Rude- Middle!

After

Here’s my before and afters! I did it! I’m sure I unsubscribed from at least twenty lists! Whoohoo! This one will free up so much time and energy. I haven’t had a zero-inbox since this email was created! While unsubscribing I came across a company that had me on three lists. This was a company I’d made a purchase from in the past and I was regularly getting emails from. You can see, they’ve lost me for good with their poor choice of renaming one of the lists I was on. Why? Just why? Name it, “previous list” or “prior campaign” but “ignore this list”. That is just harsh. I get they aren’t ignoring me. On the contrary, they are emailing me from the other two lists way too often, hence the unsubscribe action taken. I wonder if they know subscribers can see this. Interesting! Be aware, email list makers!

Share your wins from today! Which “office” did you tackle?
